Undoubtedly one of the premier vineyards of Sta. Rita Hills, the Radian Vineyard is one of the highest altitude sites in the area. This ancient Ocean sea floor consists predominately of all diatomaceous earth soils made from Diatoms (micro-algae). This white chalky terrior makes the vines struggle which builds layers of complexity and minerality. Work is hard on this site as seventy percent grades and inclines are common when hand pruning and harvesting. Passion and perseverance are a requirement to produce wine of this quality from such a remarkable location.
